Are the Nissan GTR and Ferrari FF in the running? I’ve heard some people on here speak highly of the former, and the latter had that promotional thing where they took it to some snowy mountain in the Alps via helicopter (isn’t it true though that the FF isn’t true AWD? It disengages the front wheels above a certain gear or speed or something?)
Does Audi’s quattro system have some inherent advantage over other ones, or is that just marketing fluff? Would an R8 demolish these other cars in the snow?
What else is there?

The FF is only 4wd until 5th gear as the fwd section is provided by a 2speed fwd box that works up until 4th gear

Approximately zero given they all will act like a plow once the snow hits a few inches.

With its rugged looks and go-anywhere ability plus a good engine, I think it’s a super car.

My friend can attest to this much better than myself, but an R8 in snow is a proper snow beast. No problem whatsoever when he was DDing one for a couple months in the winter.

Having owned both a 07 WRX and an 05 S4 within the past 3 years I feel obligated to turn I to a VAG fag for a moment. While Subaru symmetrical AWD is great, Quattro is light years ahead of it. Its so predictable and stable, and just perfect. It oversteers when you want it to, and grabs when you need it to. It truly is heaven.
I’ve also had the joy of driving an xdrive 335i in the snow and an evo 9 in the snow this past winter, we did a wife swap so to speak with my buddies, the 335 was nice but seemed a little front bias, and the evo was great but felt like a snowmobile, gokart handling in the snow isn’t as fun as it sounds
